Kayla Rutledge is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, as well as a Child and Youth Counsellor. She provides therapy services to children, adolescents, families, and young adults struggling with emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She works under the supervision of Dr. Hickey.
Kayla understands the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance and places emphasis on creating a safe, open, and non-judgemental space. Kayla works from a person-centred and strengths-based lens. Her approach is integrative, to help meet your unique needs and she draws from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and attachment-based therapies. Kayla likes to make therapy fun and will often incorporate creative art, mindfulness, somatic practices, and humour into sessions as well.
Kayla’s passion for helping children, youth, and families has allowed her to work in a variety of settings such as community based mental health centres, crisis support, section 23 school programs, hospitals, and private practice.
