Alex Dyck

RP, MA

Alex is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He provides individual psychotherapy services to youth and adults experiencing a range of difficulties such as depression, suicidality, anxiety, anger, interpersonal difficulties, and behavioural challenges. He also works with individuals seeking personal growth and development.

Alex creates a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment to foster a strong therapeutic alliance for those seeking his services. His clinical practice is rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and his client-centred approach allows him to meet each individual’s needs by regularly integrating other evidence-based therapies such as motivational interviewing, solution focused, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

Alex completed a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology and Psychology at the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts in Counselling & Spirituality at Saint Paul University. Since 2010, Alex has worked across a variety of settings including The Royal, The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario’s Youth Net, Operation Come Home, Saint Paul University Centre for Counselling, the John Howard Society of Ottawa, and private practice.
