Dr. Dana Sheshko

Ph.D., C. Psych.

Dr. Dana Sheshko is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She provides both assessment (psychoeducational and giftedness) and intervention/psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and families.

Dr. Sheshko has experience assessing and treating a range of difficulties including mood and anxiety symptoms, challenges with attention, behaviour and emotion regulation, learning difficulties, peer and/or family relationships, parenting supports, and intellectual and developmental delays. Dr. Sheshko’s practice is centered on understanding the interactions between an individual’s unique characteristics and their environment (such as their life at school and at home), and how these interactions may impact or promote their development and well-being. She is experienced in the use of a number of evidence-based therapy models, including cognitive-behavioural (CBT), dialectical behavioural (DBT), and acceptance-commitment (ACT) therapies, as well as systemic and emotion-focused perspectives to inform intervention. She works collaboratively with clients to identify their goals for engaging in an assessment or therapy.

Dr. Sheshko completed undergraduate degrees in Secondary Education (B.Ed.) at McGill University and in Psychology (B.A.) at Concordia University in Montreal. After numerous years working as a research assistant and then coordinator, Dr. Sheshko completed her Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Sheshko has worked with youth and their families as a clinician in many settings, including community mental health centres, hospitals, private practice, and schools.

We look forward to working with you!
